Agnese Cigliano
Advisor
Agnese has a legal background and 14 years of experience in both the corporate and the non-profit sectors.
In her latest roles, Agnese focused on developing learning & development and CSR plans, consulting for FTSE-listed and emerging companies in the tech and fin-tech sectors, and she is currently focusing on applications of tech for good and Society 5.0.
Being passionate about global justice and sustainable development, Agnese has been part of several advocacy projects and campaigns at the international level. She facilitated multilateral negotiations, including consultations organised in coordination with UNDPI, UNESCO, and Asia–Europe Meeting. Since 2019, she has been involved in the protection of citizenship rights as an election observer.
Building on her strategic and business development experience, Agnese started her entrepreneurial journey in 2022 as founder of Aasté Rugs, a socially impactful business trading traditional rugs from the state of West Bengal, India, to ensure the delivery of fair pay for tribal women artisans, and sustainable development investment in the community where the rugs are produced.
Agnese strongly believes in amplifying the voice of under-represented groups – such as grassroots movements, racial and ethnic minorities, migrants, youth, women, and LGBT+ groups – in decision-making platforms. Most of her projects are aimed at making this mission a reality.
